Welcome Communities
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of Parkour Federation, an organization to help legitimize Parkour around the world. The mission statement of Parkour Federation is to create educational programs and communities that ensure discipline and safety, founded upon the origins of Parkour. We hope to make Parkour more widely accepted among communities, better understood by school, government, and security and police agencies, and safe for all new practitioners so that the discipline of Parkour can be enjoyed by everyone for many years to come.
We will accomplish these goals by creating communities, certifying coaches, helping to build Parkour specific parks, giving grants and scholarships, and using articles and tutorial videos to make sure that communities and practitioners have everything they need to practice safely and without persecution. By helping build communities and certifying communities and coaches, we will help create a Parkour community that is certified and official. These communities will have access to safety information and first aid training, and access to coaching and training experience from other members of the community. When problems arise with government, state, or local officials, we will be able to show them without a doubt that we are not “a bunch of kids jumping on things,” and that we train in a discipline to grow ourselves and others safely.
We are a Federation. This means we need your help to accomplish these goals. The first way that you can help is by going to your community and letting them know of this organization. Most of all our paid membership is a gesture of support with the ability to take advantage of extra videos and content. The most important thing you and your community can do in association with Parkour Federation to help the Parkour community is to go to our forums and polls and give your voice and opinions on issues. After this all we ask is that you help us get the word out to new communities that contact you, by helping them find our website, so they can decide if they would like to have Parkour Federation assist them in creating their own legitimate and safe community.
